What Katie Did

Most of my posts are about the inane things I like or do. A bit self indulgent really... So to keep in tradition, here is what I did today: Very early this morning I went to the markets in search excellent flowers and foliage for Amanda and Alister's wedding. They didnt disappoint, check out the awesome finds! On my way home I attempted to be efficient by stopping past Comme to pick up vases etc from last weekends wedding. Alas They were locked away so back home I trundled. After a hearty bowl of muesli and yoghurt, I cycled onto a very stressful appointment, an hour and a half massage. Excellent, would highly recommend. After a small nap(you get up at 5am!) I went on an expedition to find glassware. Success! Nook was most helpful as well as the lovely people from 84 Smith Street. But alas being on my bike, meant I could only carry one bag full of vintage bottles... So a plan was hatched, I would drive into town, pick of the vases from Comme, drive to Smith Street to pick up a giant bell jar, then dash to my 5pm Pilates class. But a flat car tyre got in my way! Most conveniently outside my old work... Well kind of. The first former colleague was somewhat useless, the second rolled up his sleeves and got to work. Let it be known, I will from now on change the next flat. Anyhow, I then hot footed to the nearest tyre store. Tis most convenient to have this happen 4pm the day before a public holiday weekend! My friend at Beaurepairs experienced assertive Katie, one which was not playing the gullible female game. I rolled my pumped up tyre back down Swanson street, entertaining traffic for a second time in 30 minutes. Now to get the car back and pick up the final piece of glassware from 84 Smith Street. Well from the store owners home in North Fitzroy. I'd managed to teach the store owner how to take online payments and negotiate picking up the excellent bell jar this evening. Carrying multiple bags I cycled the 50cm high glass jar home, then went to church. I'm home now, psyching myself up to play soccer at 10:40pm. If you made it to end of this post well done.
