On Monday morning I had two pills. One was echinacea, the other a very strong antihistamine. You see Belinda and I were off to pretend to be country girls at the rodeo. Authentic texan cowgirl boots. Tick. Sturdy denim jeans. Tick. Collared shirt. Tick. A cowgirl swagger. Half tick (who are we kidding there was no tick.) Belinda picked me up early as there was going to be a drive to this rodeo, it was in Lang Lang. (I had spotted the sign a few weeks earlier while driving back from a cycling/camping adventure at Leongatha.) About halfway there it started to pour, probably the same time it hailed in Melbourne. By the time we got to Lang Lang, all the cars were parked at the only pub and the showground had a few soggy country folk in drizabones and RM Williams. The rodeo was dead... But we were dressed to impress, so decided to venture to a more populated town and have a tasty afternoon tea while people watching. Not quite the same as bucking bull entertainment... On the plus side, I did save my nose from embarrassment (I'm highly allergic to horses.)
