Despite turning the laundry into my walk-in wardrobe to house my massive collection of clothes and therefore having a huge amount of clothes to wear, I like to travel light. Mainly because I hate carrying bags. Also, it seems somewhat pointless to bring five skirts on a two-day trip, when you're most probably just going to wear a pair of jeans the whole time. My claim to carry-on-bag-fame, is heading overseas to Indonesia for a two week holiday with just carry on (literally - it wasn't even the variety with wheels which you could fit a small child into.) Maybe not as impressive and certainly not as extravagant as a family I once observed.. the entire family got onto the plane, squeezing past the airhosts and passengers, with giant garbage bags full of stuff, one can only assume their entire wardrobes. Every single family member who could walk. including the five year old was lugging an obtuse black growth down the aisle. Luckily for us, they had the nouse to ensure they were double-bagged, as to this day, I still do not know 1. how they were allowed on the plane with their entire house contents in giant garbage bags 2. they managed to squeeze the bags into the overhead lockers 3. how the bags didn't rip and we end up in my floordrobe equivalent??
