During a recent visit to Iceland (jealous), one thing which facinated me most was the simplistic architecture. The buildings were grand in size, but surprisingly, they were generally variations to a box. Except for the churches. These buildings spanned great heights (please note the last of these photos) or teeny tiny. Inspired by their beauty, I've pulled together a few other churches from around the world... I particularily like the first photo, a church built into the rock canyon in the middle of the Nevada Desert.
